The composition of high carbon steel

High Carbon Steel is one of the most common types of steel. High Carbon Steel has a high carbon content, ranging from 0.60% to 1.70% , and can be hardened and tempered, used in the manufacture and production of many materials. Tools such as hammers and crowbars are generally made and produced from high-carbon steel containing 0.75% carbon: many other cutting tools such as drill bits, daily construction tools such as tapping are made of high carbon steel with a carbon content of about 0.90% to 100% .

A high-carbon steel that has been subjected to special treatments, such as heat treatment, to obtain better properties. In general, these treatments can greatly enhance its hardness and strength, it can become the basic steel material for making springs and wear-resistant parts. In addition, there is a kind of high carbon steel which is a special high carbon steel added with other metal elements, namely Carbon Tool Steel, carbon Tool Steels are low in composition, have excellent properties in cold and hot working processes, and are widely used. Carbon tool steel carbon content of about 0.65 to 1.35% , it is generally used for the production of steel tools. The density standard of high carbon steel is about 7.81 g/cm. The weldability and plasticity of high carbon steel are worse than other kinds of steel, but high carbon steel is one of the most important kinds of steel.
