Flat steel wire is rolled into flat steel wire by high quality wire diameter flat mill. Flat steel wire has a wide range of uses in industrial production, such as aerospace guidance system and alloy flat steel wire used in military industry, timer spring, automobile wiper frame and textile equipment such as needle cloth rack, reed and steel sheet comprehensive.
The flat steel wire with large width to thickness ratio and high precision can be obtained by rolling the wire rod with a certain size.
At present, flattening round steel wire is one of the main production methods for producing high precision flat steel wire. In the early stage, the flat steel wire was mainly obtained by cold drawing. Because of the disadvantages of large drawing force, high lubrication requirements, serious mold loss and so on, it was gradually replaced by the flat rolling process of round steel wire. The flat steel wire obtained by the flat rolling process has excellent performance, simple process, good surface quality, uniform thickness, and high tensile strength after cold work hardening. Compared with the flat steel wire, it has many advantages such as low labor production intensity, large single plate weight and high production efficiency.
After the hot rolled wire rod is cold drawn to the specification size, it is softened by recrystallization annealing, then rolled and final heat treatment, and qualified products are obtained. The whole process should go through two heat treatments, the final heat treatment is mainly through oil quenching to obtain martensite strengthening, and then choose different temperature tempering, to obtain the required mechanical properties.
This process is widely used by major manufacturers, but it also has shortcomings, mainly as follows:
(1)the intermediate heat treatment process makes the process complex, reduces the production efficiency, increases the production cost and the labor force;
(2) after the intermediate heat treatment, the work hardening effect produced in the cold drawing process disappears completely;
(3) the final mechanical properties of the product are limited by the final heat treatment process.
